Kees Koedijk is Professor of Finance at Tilburg University and Dean of the Tilburg School of Economics and Management. For many years he has been active in the field of sustainable finance and investing- and still is. Kees is an expert in financial economics and financial institutions. His research focuses on finance and investments, with an emphasis on socially responsible investment. Kees has published extensively on finance, responsible investment, sustainable development and pension management.
He is research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research and managing editor of the Journal of International Money and Finance. He also is a member of the Supervisory Board of ASN Investment Fund, member of the Monitoring Committee Dutch Banking Sector, Social Entrepreneur, and co-founder of Maastricht University’s Centre for Corporate Engagement (ECCE) and Tilburg University’s Tilburg Sustainability Center (TSC). He is a former member of the CSR Advisory Board of Fortis Bank and of the committee that investigated the downfall of the Dutch DSB-Bank in 2010 (Scheltema-Committee). From 2005-2007 he was member and chairman of the Raad van Economisch Adviseurs, an important council of economic advisors to the Dutch Parliament.
Kees published in top international journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Business and Financial Management. In 2010 he published the book Investment Beliefs- A Positive Approach to Institutional Investing together with Alfred Slager. He received the Moskowitz Prize (in 2002 and 2005) for his research on Socially Responsible Investment, a Mistra Grant in 2006 and 2008 and the 2008 Finance & Sustainability Award. Koedijk is the initiator of the online platforms FSinsight.org and the Dutch economic opinion website Mejudice.nl, and of the European edition of the Global CFO Survey.
